Attending the World Cancer Congress offers the media a unique opportunity to interact with national and international cancer professionals and learn about evidence-based strategies for cancer prevention and control and the latest scientific findings. The Congress will address hot topics, such as cervical cancer vaccination and tobacco control, and deal with the political and economic aspects of the disease and how these are handled in resource-rich and resource-constrained countries.

Accreditation
Application for accreditation to the Congress is open to media professionals working for newspapers, news services, magazines, radio and television stations, and online publications engaged in disseminating news. Congress registration is free for accredited press.
The following are not eligible to apply for accreditation:
- those engaged in lobbying, paid advertising, publicity, or promotion work for any individual, political party, corporation, organization or governmental agency
- publishers of books and magazines and representatives of sales, advertising or marketing departments of publications and broadcast outlets
- industry representatives, in-house and industry newsletters, web sites, blogs and magazines, and members of public relations firms and advertising agencies, or representatives of corporate or university and hospital public relations/advertising/marketing departments and similar may not register as media.
Note: Under no circumstances will media linked to tobacco companies be granted access to the Congress.
Applicants for media accreditation must complete an application form and fax both it and supporting documents (credentials, business card, freelance materials) to Mr JJ Divino, Head, UICC Communications Cluster at +41 22 809 1810 (fax).
