Reaching the "25 by 25" target

At a press conference on Tuesday, global cancer leaders gathered to discuss the way forward in achieving the WHO '25 by 25' target.

Princess Dina Mired of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation of Jordan called for greater partnerships and asked those in low- and middle- income countries to "roll up their sleeves" and take the lead. Additional speakers called for multi-stakeholder collaboration and a sense or urgency to continue the momentum created over the past year by the global cancer and NCD community. Dr. John Seffrin, CEO of the American Cancer Society, announced a $2 million commitment to UICC over the next 3 years to advance its global cancer control efforts.
