Information for speakers

Person presenting at the World Cancer Congress 2022

We are looking forward to welcoming all speakers to the World Cancer Congress in September. If you are a Congress speaker, you will find some information on this page to assist you in your preparations.

REQUIRED PRESENTATION FORMAT

If you will present slides, please note that your presentation must be in PowerPoint 16:9 Landscape (horizontal) (*.ppt or *.pptx). PDF is not accepted, and Keynote, Open Office and Prezi are not supported.
We encourage you to use the WCC 2024 PowerPoint template. You can modify the template by adding your organisation logo and/or background graphics. We highly recommend limiting the number of slides and avoiding text-heavy slides.

Your presentation must include the following elements:

  • Your presentation should reflect the content of the original session submission
  • Title and author name on the first slide
  • Followed with a slide for disclosure of any Conflicts of Interest that could affect your presentation
It is not compulsory to use slides. If you will not be using any slides, please let John Lawlor know at lawlor@uicc.org so that we avoid sending your reminders.

ADVANCE PRESENTATION UPLOAD ONLINE

From mid-August, you will have the possibility to submit your presentation for the Congress via an online submission portal. We will send detailed information and instructions during the month of August.

This platform will remain active until 23:59 (CET) on 13 September 2024. After this date, you will be able to upload your presentation at the onsite Speaker Service Centre in Geneva.

SPEAKER SERVICE CENTRE

The onsite Speaker Service Centre will be located on Level 1 of the congress venue and will be open as follows:

  • 18 September: 08:00 – 18:00
  • 19 September: 08:00 – 12:00

At the onsite Speaker Service Centre you will be able to (re-)upload your slides. Simply bring your presentation on a USB key at least 90 minutes before the start of the your session. Please note that it will not be possible to use your own laptop in the session room or to upload your presentation directly in the session room. You must go to the Speaker Service Centre in advance.
Access to the Speaker Service Centre is restricted, and your badge will be checked at the entrance.

PREPARING YOUR PRESENTATION

The Congress official language is English, therefore all materials must be in English. If English is not your native language, you may consider asking a friend or colleague to proofread your presentation.

You will be speaking to an international audience, with a mix of native and non-native English speakers. With that in mind, please be prepared to speak clearly and at a reasonable pace. We recommend you rehearse your presentation a number of times before Congress.
