Professor Shi Anli is a distinguished leader in cancer control and rehabilitation in China whose career spans five decades of service in public health, patient advocacy, and cancer survivorship. After graduating from the Department of Medicine at Beijing Medical University in 1975, she joined the Department of Science and Technology of China’s Ministry of Health, where she worked from 1976 to 2002. During this period, she further developed her expertise in health administration and policy through participation in the World Health Organization’s Advanced Health Management Master’s Seminar in Belgium between 1985 and 1989.

In 2003, Professor Shi became Deputy Secretary-General of the China Cancer Foundation and Director of its Patient Assistance Program, positions she held until 2010. She subsequently played a pivotal role in advancing cancer rehabilitation nationwide as Chair, and later Honorary Chair, of the Rehabilitation Branch of the China Anti-Cancer Association from 2010 to 2025. Since 2015, she has served as Honorary President of the Beijing Love Book Cancer Foundation, continuing her lifelong commitment to improving the lives of people affected by cancer.

Professor Shi’s professional achievements are matched by an extraordinary personal journey. Over the course of more than three decades, she faced cancer three times—breast cancer at age 39, colorectal cancer at 56, and a second breast cancer diagnosis at 68. Rather than being deterred by these challenges, she transformed her experiences into a source of strength and inspiration, dedicating herself to uniting and developing cancer rehabilitation organizations throughout China. Through her resilience, leadership, and unwavering advocacy for cancer survivors, she has become one of the most influential figures in the field of cancer rehabilitation in China.
